Lay offs at Wal-Mart.

  • Jan. 13th, 2009 at 6:36 PM

Is anyone on here worried about the economy effecting Wal-Mart and them laying off people. I can’t see that happing myself. But all these companies that are suppose to be impervious to the economy are feeling it …. I work in the grocery side of my Wal-Mart, and have been there for two and a half years. So I believe my job is somewhat secure. I use to joke with people back when I started, and I would tell them “No matter how bad the economy gets, I’ll still have a job”. I did not believe that would ever be so true as it is right now.

10% discount on food.

Ok can anyone explain this one to me. Why do we not have the 10% discount on all items and only the GM stuff and the vegetables. Someone once told me it was because, it was not profitable enough for that.

Or is there another reason. Oh, Wal-Mart is giving us the 10% discount on food until the 31 of December.

Thanksgiving is almost here in the U.S., heralding the start of the holiday season and the first of many meals where you might be confronted with a traditional dish that you happen to find disgusting. What holiday food do you hate to see on the table?

I really don't like green bean casserole, it does not seem good to me.

Wal-Mart and moving up.

  • Nov. 25th, 2008 at 11:52 AM

Hi, a few months ago I was promoted to a position that I did not suit me well and I was allowed to leave it before my job rate change…After I left the new position and went back to my old position in grocery, I was told by another employee that I would not be allowed to move up again. Does anyone know if me turning down that position would end up keeping me from moving up again in the future.

I was just wonder. if me wanting to leave the  new position and go back to my old job. Rules me out for any new position in Wal-Mart.
